Types of Services offered to Psychologists

I offer peer mentoring / consultation services to psychologists of all skill levels who are performing or preparing to perform impartial evaluations of comparative custodial suitability (s. 211 evaluations, practice note 9 evaluations, child custody evaluations).  A range of consultation services are available depending on the psychologist's specific professional needs.  For example:

  • Psychologists who are new to family law practice can be guided through the evaluative process from the initial contact with self-represented parents or legal counsel through testimony. 
  • Experienced psychologists may obtain assistance in their handling of particularly difficult cases. 
  • Agreements and forms can be reviewed from the risk management perspective and revisions can be suggested when needed.
  • Psychologists who are new to custody work can obtain advice in the creation and maintenance of appropriately detailed records.
  • Psychologists with little or no experience in offering testimony can be aided in trial preparation.  Psychologists of all levels of experience can be assisted to increase compliance with best practices in the field.  ​

Cost of Consultation Services

I charge an hourly fee for consultation and my hourly rate is $250.   All consultation services incur an additional charge of 5% GST.     

Terms of Consultation Services

Individual consultation is not supervision.  I cannot accept responsibility for another psychologist's decisions, forensic process, or work product. 
Consultation meetings can take place in-person or via teleconferencing.  ​
